Abstract :
This text is a translation of the entrance to the fiqh section from Fuat Sezgin’s encylopedia called GAS (History of Arabic Culture). He, there, argues that the writing and collecting movement in fiqh area began at a very early period as in other areas, depending on some clues found in sources of various Islamic science branches. Sezgin puts forward that many texts written in the periods of companions and followers have reached to present day within the other books, however they are scattered. So, he throws lights on this field and provides an important starting-point for new researches.
