Abstract :
This article examines local public companies under three main headlines in European Union and in Turkey. First of all it provides a summary analysis on the definition and duties of local public companies in general. Secondly, it examines European Union’s policy for local public companies and EU Competition Law effect. Finally, the article evaluates legal structure in Turkey for local public companies and İstanbul Metropolitan Municipality experiences.
