THE EFFECT OF REPEATED READING COMPREHENSION IN GERMAN LESSONS

Abstract
In this study, the Effect of repeated reading method on growing reading comprehension abilities in eleventh class students’ German Lessons has been searched. This study has been done with 6 students choosen from Seyhan and Piri Reis Anatolian High Schools in Adana. In choosing these students, their Anatolian High School entrance points have been cared and these 6 students have same entrance points. It is established that the students have difficulty in reading German texts. The method has been applied 4 hours in a week for each student. Teaching has been done with totally 48 hours repeated reading method. Teaching has been continued twice in a week during 3 months. Teaching has been done with 24 reading texts choosen from different course books which have been used in tenth and eleventh classes. Teaching has been done individually in a silent medium. It is found out a remarkable improvement in students’ reading comprehension abilities at the end of 3 months education which has been done by using repeated reading method.
