PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS’ PERCEPTIONS OF STUDENT CENTERED TEACHING
Abstract :
Purpose of this study is to determine the primary school teachers’ perceptions of student-centered teaching. Survey method was used in this research. “Teachers’ Perception Survey for Student Centered Teaching” was developed by researchers for collecting the data. Survey’s validity was provided with specialists’ views and survey’s reliability was found 0.92. Data was analyzed with SPSS 11.5 programme with regard to variables of gender, branch, graduate, and priority. Results of the study can be summarized as follow: Teachers have a perception of student-centered teaching above the average (X: 3.41), gender is not a meaningful variable but branch, graduate, and priority are meaningful variables for teachers’ perceptions.
