EVALUATION PERFORMANCE TASK GIVEN IN THE FIRST LEVEL OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN THE ASPECTS OF PARENTS’ VIEWS
Abstract :
In this study, it was aimed to identify parents ‘views related to performance tasks given in the first level of elementary school. The research was carried out to get 241 parents’ views in 37 elementary schools in villages and in the centre of Hatay province. Scanning model was used in this research. The data were obtained through questionnaire and semi structured interview. In analyzing data, frequency, percentage, arithmetic mean, t-test and one way ANOVA were used. In the result of the research, it was found out that parents found performance tasks useful in the term of kids’ personal developments; performance tasks increased their research desires, but they said that they had problems in obtaining resources and performance tasks took a long time. In addition to this, it was found out that there was not a significant difference in parents’ views in terms of their education level about problems in performance tasks in the first level of elementary school. However, it was found out that there was a significant difference in parents’ views in terms of their residence about the problems in performance tasks. It was identified that the difference was in favor of parents living in city centre.
