Abstract :
In this study, the teaching of Turkish in the process of historical development which was written for teaching reading and writing books Elifba, the basic features of life in Turkish society, and proverbs that reflect the beauty of the Turkish language as a tool in teaching reading and writing will be analyzed using the following three works: Elifba Risalesi by published Cemiyet-i Tedrisiye İslamiye, Elifba-i Osmani published by Konstantinidi, Elifba-yı Osmanî yahud Medhalü’l Lisan by published Cemil Bağdadi.The above three works were exhibited in a conscious method of teaching Turkish. The data obtained from these three works, the method of document review, compared to today s methods of teaching reading, writing, teaching Turkish in the process of the past, suggestions was made with the light that illuminates the present.
