THE EFFECT ON FAMILY OF RURAL MIGRATION IN TURKEY
Abstract :
Since 1950s as in the cases of developing countries, a social mobility has been experienced. The rural migration is the one of the most important indicator of this mobility. The rural migration has a lot of social and economic effect. These effects can be seen on the family, which is the main unit of the society. In this study the effects of rural migration on the family structure was aimed using secondary data of Turkish Statistics Institute (TSI). It was concluded that the family structure could have been changed due to rural migration and thus resulted in some social developments.
