Abstract
City councils, an important tool for participatory democracy, should accomplish goals of protecting city rights and laws, sustainable development, solidarity and local participation. The purpose of this article is to review previous publications related to city councils and examine issues they face, make suggestions for solutions, understand, explain, and depict the endeavors of the Canakkale City Council.
