Abstract :
Science and Technology program which intend to make all students science and technology literacy have been started to be applied all over the country since 2005. The purpose of this study is to reveal opinion of teachers about the Science and Technology program based on constructivist learning concept, regarding of making students science and technology literacy. A study was made in order to bring out opinion of teachers thoroughly about this program. Data in the study were gathered regarding of teachers’ answers given to open ended questions related to science and technology literacy. 429 4th and 5th grade Science and Technology teachers joined in the study at seventy elementary schools in fourteen different provinces. 297 of the teachers joined in the study stated their opinions. Teachers opinions were analyzed by content analysis and sample answers were shown by percentage values and frequency values. According to the study results, the teachers indicated that the program is favorable, sufficient, applicable, and the program makes the students science and technology literacy.
