مرکز منطقه ای اطلاع رساني علوم و فناوري - ADAPTATION OF THE PARENTAL SELF – EFFICACY SCALE: THE STUDY OF VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY

Abstract :

The aim of this study is to investigate on Turkish adaptation of Perceived Parental Self Efficacy Scale (PPSES) which is designed by Caprara, Regalia, Scabini, Barbanelli and Bandura (2004), its validity and reliability. The research group of this study is 747 parents which are training on parent educations in Malatya city. SPSS 17.0 was used for analyze data. 12 item version of the original scale which was single-factor structure, construct validity for 339 mothers and 171 fathers totally 510 people have done exploratory factor analysis on the data collected. As a result of the factor analysis, structure with 11 items consisting of a single factor was obtained. EYO s criterion-related validity study of 60 mothers and 55 fathers from the group consisting of General Self Efficacy Scale (GSE) was used and the total score correlation between the total score of the EYO was found to be .78. Cronbach s Alpha coefficient for internal consistency has been found .92. Also the group consisting of 60 mother and 44 father have been done implementation to two-week intervals. As a result of this implementation the reliability results of test –retest are .94.
