Abstract :
The aim of this study is to evaluate narrative style of war and in United States history textbooks. Document analysis method was used in this study. For this purpose, the relevant literature and history textbooks were examined. In U.S. history textbooks, of the U.S. independence from Britain, the US-Mexican War, the U.S. Civil War, First World War, Second World War, Cold War, Iraq and Afghanistan interventions have been emphasized. American Civil War has got most space in U.S. history textbooks. Besides the wars with the Native Americans history textbooks has got important place. In the United States’ history textbooks Second World War is seen as justified and honorable war. Vietnam War that is being expressed the most controversial war in terms of domestic politics in American history textbooks. After 11 September 2001, the U.S. defined terrorism is the biggest enemy. Wars were evaluated from the perspective of the U.S approach itself.
