Abstract :
Sezai Karakoc is one of the poets in the center of concepts such as resurrection, modernism, cities and urban opposition, religion, history, civilization and traditions. Sezai Karakoc tells that the one who is tied blindly to modernism left his post and can not tie to his future. According to him, to solve the depression of age, individual should not leave the tradition. In our study, the poem in the second part of Sezai Karakoç’s “Hızırla Kırk Saat” examined. Sezai Karakoc compares tradition and modernity using word of town and city. The poet who wants Hızır to guide him, speaks with Hızır and reproaches to the teachers. The issue is mainly criticized and forms the starting point of the essay is that offer the advantages of technology, the construction of city changed and human becomes monotype. The speaking between Karakoç and Hızır doesn’t only give the negative side of the modernizm but also gives an idea about what Sezai Karakoç places against modernism.
