Abstract :
The labor markets in Turkey have experienced rapid change due to global developments. Depending on the growth of the services sector, the employment has increased in sectors such as investment consulting, banking; many different professional positions have emerged in these sectors. These positions assumed by many theorists as middle class, have contradictory structures due to their certain properties. This study aims to examine these positions, described as contradictory class location by Eric Olin Wright, with the help of field research. The Study is a field study that is conducted in Izmir and Manisa. It includes in-depth interviews of 30 employees in 7 different banks. The sample consists of both public and private banks. Thus, it was possible to compare the conditions and facilities of employees. In-depth interviews have been made with employees in different positions such as senior executives, bank tellers. This situation has also given the opportunity to compare. Questions about the class position, working conditions, everyday life have been asked. The basic problems and future concerns of the employees were questioned. The question of where they see themselves in the social structure has been searched. The overview of the organizational structure of these sectors has been reached.
