Abstract
The subject of this study constitutes that public participation in urban regeneration projects in İzmir Karabağlar Province. The study primarily explain that importance of public participation in the process of urban regeneration, legal system of participation, participation models and participation tools via resources in the literature. Afterward this study investigated that participation of Karabağlar Public an Karabağlar Urban Regeneration Claim Seekers Association in Karabağlar Urban Regeneration Project. In the context of field research work, essay tried to determine whether public participation in Karabağlar Urban Regeneration Project. The obtained data was tried to reach to the social realities with descriptive analysis which obtained by applying in-depth and limited interview with public and association officals. Finally, it is understood that, public participation in the Karabağlar Urban Regeneration Project is successful. And Karabağlar Urban Regeneration Claim Seekers Association achieves some gains in this process.
