Abstract :
Mobile devices with internet capabilities and applications have dramatically increased the convenience of accessing information for university students and instructors. The primary purpose of this study is to reveal prospective teachers’ and instructors’ opinions on mobile communication technology (smart phone, tablet, laptop etc. that allows internet access) use for “Anywhere Anytime Learning”. From this point forth answers are sought for the following questions “what prospective teachers and instructors think about the use of mobile communication technologies in the teaching-learning process” and “how mobile communication technologies could be used more effective in the teaching-learning process”.Survey model was used for this descriptive study. Population of the study is consist of 37 instructors and 616 students (only 3rd and 4th grade) from a university located in Mediterrenean Region during the academic year 2014 – 2015. Data collection tools were developed by the researchers. Personal information form which aims to determine characteristics of the prospective teachers and instructors, and closed ended and open ended question forms that aim to receive prospective teachers’ and instructors’ opinions on mobile communication technology use for “anywhere anytime learning”. Frequency analysis was applied for qualitative data and content analysis for the open ended questions.The results indicate that prospective teachers and instructors use mobile communication technologies during teaching – learning process. Considerably widespread mobile communication technologies are thought to be provided learning in an unwitting manner as well as immediate learning in times of need.
