Abstract :
In this study, it is aimed to determine the correlation between the parents’ behaviorand relational and physical aggression in children at the age of 3, 4, 5 and 6, and to analyze the differentiation of this aggressive behavior based on certain factors (gender, age, number of siblings, birth order, the amount of time spent in a pre-school institution, level of income of the family). The study utilized relational screening model and the sample of the study consists of 300 hundred 36-72 months old children in independent kindergartens affiliated to Ministry of Education, and their 600 parents (300 mothers, 300 fathers) in Balıkesir Karesi district. General Information Form, Parents’ Attitude Scale and Pre-school Social Behavior Scale- Teacher Form were used as data collection instruments. At the end of the study, a positive correlation was found between the authoritarian attitude of father and mother and physical and relational aggression, while a negative correlation was found between mother’s permissive attitude and physical aggression. Furthermore, it was concluded that gender and the amount of time spent at a pre-school institution variables had a significant difference on physical aggression, while it didn’t have any significant difference on relational aggression.
