Title Of Article :
THE EXAMINATION OF RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE LOWER AND UPPER EXTREMITY MEASUREMENT OF ANTHROPOMETRIC VALUES, AND HAND GRIP STRENGTH AND SKIP DISTANCE
Abstract :
The aim of this study is to search whether girth of arm and forearm have an effect on hand grip strength and also whether the measurement values of tighbone and calf have an effect on vertical and horizontal jumping length or not. A total of 54 athletes participated in the study. Some anthropometric measurements were taken from the subjects. In addition, the right and left hand grip strength, and the vertical and horizontal skip rates of the subjects were determined. Since the data were normally distributed, One-Way Anova test was used for the analysis of the variables. Tukey multiple comparison was used to determine between which groups the differences were. As a result, a significiant difference has been found at the p 0.01 level on the right and left hand grip strength with height, weight and arm girth measurements. However, when it comes to thigh and calf girth measurements, it has been found that there is no significiant difference (p 0.05) in accordance with the vertical and horizontal skip distance. Trainings should be made to increase the strength of quadriceps and hamstring muscles in order to increase vertical and horizontal skipping distance.
