Abstract :
The usage of educative animations is a very affective technique that facilitates understanding in especially application based courses. Learning and education of spatial analysis methods used in GIS are a very difficult issue for both lecturers and students. Especially the complexity of the analysis based on Digital Terrain Model makes it difficult for students to learn. When the difficulties arising from usage of GIS software is also added to this negativity, it is observed that the interests of the students for the subject are decreasing. In this study, it is aimed to visualize GIS analyses with animations made in ArcGIS software in order to especially ensure that students understand better digital elevation analyses used in GIS. The students can both understand easily spatial analysis and become more interested against the course with the reduction of these animations about spatial analysis to a usage structure being as simple as possible.
