Title Of Article :
Cycle Selection Optimization of Various Cycles for Geothermal Resources
Abstract :
One of the sources offering the highest efficiency in the production of power among alternative sources is also geothermal. With the usage of the geothermal energy in heating and power production, important steps will have been taken to tackle the energy issue. In this study, geothermal sources at low, medium and high temperatures that may be suitable for power generation in Turkey were investigated. Optimum plants in terms of maximum net power, thermal and exergetic efficiency were selected according to properties of these sources. These plants are double flash, combined and Kalina cycle plants. Selected plants were optimized according to turbine inlet pressure maximizing net power, energy and exergy efficiencies. Especially in double flash and combined plants flashing pressures and turbine inlet pressures were separately optimized.
