Title Of Article :
AN INVESTIGATION OF WEAR BEHAVIORS OF DIFFERENT CUTTING TOOLS IN MACHINING BY MEANS OF TURNING Al-MgO COMPOSITES PRODUCED BY VACUUM INFILTRATION METHOD
Abstract :
In recent years, the investigations related with metal cutting and machinability are accelerated in paralel with increasing composit materials application areas. In this study, Al matrix and /MgO reinforcement composites having 5 %, 10 %, 15 % volume fraction of reinforcement are produced and machining experiments are made by using of Cementite Carbide (C), Cubic Boron Nitrides (CBN) and Covered Cubic Boron Nitrides (CBNC) cutting tools. After machining experiments, abrasion behaviours are examined by taking of Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images of cutting tools. Machining experiments are made at the four different cutting speed (150, 200, 250 and 300 m/min), three different feed (0,075-0,15 and 0,225 mm/rev) and constant cutting depth (1 mm). The findings of 150 m/min cutting speed and 0,225 mm/rev feed values which are derived from the most unstable results are discussed in the evaluation of tool abrasion behaviour. In the evaluation of SEM views of cutting tools; ıt is resulted that the deposit machining (BUE) are arised at the head of tools and abrasion mechanism are effected to the all cutting tools and generally, the most stable results are derived from C tools.
