Conversion Disorder Mimicking Neurologic Disorders: Case Report

Abstract
Conversion disorder (CD) is characterized by deficit in mo-tor and/or sensory functions of an individual without any organic reason. Herein, a 39 years old male patient who had symptoms of weakness in left lower extremity, difficulty in walking and parestesia is presented. CD is diagnosed after the exclusion of the possible disorders that explain the neurologic signs. Twenty mg/day citalopram is started and taken to follow up in psychiatry clinic. After 3 months follow-up, complaints of patients is improved. In this paper, the necessity of a detailed physical and neurologic examination with laboratory evaluation during diagnose is emphasized.
