Abstract
A 30-year old healthy pregnant woman (gravidity 5, parity 4) with an intrauterine fetal death was referred to our clinic. Ultrasonography confirmed intrauterine a fifteen-week old fetus without a heartbeat. After medical intervention (expulsion of the dead fetus), entanglement of the umbilical cord around the neck and left arm was ascertained. Any fetus with complex cord entanglements involving multiple loops around the body, limbs, and neck should be followed carefully throughout pregnancy, even in the early gestational weeks. Parents should be informed about the risk of fetal demise.
