Abstract
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP) is an advanced endoscopic technique which hasa long learning curve to develop proficiency and higherpotential for serious complications than any other standardendoscopic technique. Perforation is a rare but oneof the most feared complications complication of (ERCP),but it is surely associated with mortality. When endoscopicsphincterotomy (ES) added to procedure perforationoccurs in 0.3% to 1% of patients, and that carries amortality rate of 16% to 18%. The interval between theperforation and the operation is of great significance. Themortality rate increases dramatically with late surgicalmanagement. There is no standard surgical approach toperforations related with ERCP. In this study we presentour experience for surgical management of ERCP-relatedperiampullary retroperitoneal perforations.
