Narrative Types Depending on the Dialogs of the Play Ionesco’s Kel Şarkıcı

In this study the play Kel Şarkıcı by Ionesco is examined within the context of dialogues and from the point of structural, contextual, semantic and syntactic characteristics of some literary forms like stories, poems, idioms and proverbs included in the play. These literary forms within the play have been limited to the context of dialogues between figures. It has been aimed to present a communicative analysis of these forms within the framework of their semantic and syntactic characteristics. It has been aimed to find out how these literary genres have been dramatically structured in Ionescoean stage, the reflection of society. The contributions of stereotyped phrases derived from stories, poems, aphorisms and proverbs which are embedded particularly into dialogues in the play to the reflection of the style to the outside world and to the enrichment of the play’s theme are examined. It has been concluded that these literary forms employed in certain parts of the play undertake significant functions in helping the play’s gaining momentum, the consolidation of the theme, and the enrichment of the author’s style and the reflection of the notion, Theatre of Absurd.
