Abstract
Orhan Pamuk, one of the postmodernist writers, has faced with some criticism while he has been praised. However, leaving them all aside, Orhan Pamuk has started to make his difference with his publications and was awarded with 2006 Nobel Literary Prize. In the study that we try to fi nd answers by taking the novel as a basis for the guestion how the color metaphor is used in terms of literary terms in the novel, Benim Adım Kırmızı, we will try to comment on the “the colors” as a metaphor by focusing on them as signifi cant elements in understanding the sensational novel in the period that it is published in Turkey.
