Determining Purchasing Alternatives By Using Multivariate Statistical Techniques: An Application on Sniper Rifles

Source determining applications loom large in purchasing management with increase in product variety. Because it is a wide variety of products, a lot of company and product alternatives even in the basic criteria needed to be, makes it difficult to identify the right suppliers. The purpose of this study was the before supplier selection process in purchasing management which of the alternative products can be compared in the light of a constant variable by using multivariate statistical methods. As an application Selection of sniper rifle is used. 25 sniper rifles, belonging to the 13 countries, are examined on performance values. The analysis of sniper rifles with the same caliber has demonstrated that two main groups were observed upto the analysis of four different variables. Finally in light of the findings, before selecting suppliers in purchasing management a conceptual process model is proposed.
