Günter Grass is known for his writings as they generate great effects among contemporary authors. This characteristic of him becomes clearer because of his sensitivity to time and human being. In his work of Die Rättin, luxurious life style, a time problem of importance was felt since Rousseaus which is caused by individual, social and economic satisfaction, were examined in details. This is a sign of mankind-tragic events in front of decadence and impoverishment. In this work, Grass examined the dilemma leading to an inexistence that technologic and industrial countries are facing in a critical way in the lights of historical motifs. In this work, Grass Die Rättin is analyzed by means of sociocultural and historical approaches to find some answers.
