Abstract
In this research, thoughts of history teachers on effective map using and how adequate they find themselves in that respect were tried to be discovered. It was concluded from the research that history teachers didn’t receive any training related with the map reading and writing, they think that map reading and writing is a necessity, they find their map reading and writing skills inadequate, map equipments aren’t at desired level; they believe the necessity of cooperation with geography teachers, in history lessons, map usage displayed much more efficient results in terms of education, almost in all subjects primarily in political subjects, map is needed and they obtained their current map reading and writing adequacy mostly by their individual studies.
