Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine teacher candidates’ attitudes regarding popular music in terms of different volabiles. Two hundred seventy four teacher candidates who study departments of Turkish Language Education, Classroom Education and Preschool Education in the Faculty of Kâzım Karabekir at the University of Atatürk have participated. The data were collected by “The Attitude Survey Toward the Popular Music” which has been developed by researchers. One way ANOVA was used to analyze of the data. By the this study it is obvious that teacher candidates’ attitudes toward popular music are high level and teacher candidates have the perceptual preparation necessary for using popular music as a teaching tool in second level primary school.
