Abstract
The purpose of this study is to determine and compare critical thinking level and dispositions of the students in the Faculty of Divinity and the Faculty of Education (Department of Religious Culture and Ethics Knowledge). The data was obtained from the application of “California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory”, translated into Turkish by Kökdemir, over the students, consisted of 273, studying at Ataturk University, Dicle University, İnönü University, Ondokuz Mayıs University and Uludag University in the 2011-2012 academic years. Descriptive statistics, t test and one-way analysis of variance were used for data analysis. As a result, critical thinking level and dispositions of pre-service teachers of religious culture and ethics knowledge was found medium. It was also found that the location where childhood was spent was found statistically significant whereas no significant difference by age, the type of faculty and geographical region.
