Abstract
Abstract: This study that deals with the news representation of the violence against woman in the newspapers is a media surveillance research. The research deals with how three chosen serious and popular press samples (Cumhuriyet, Zaman and Sabah) that are broadcasted in the country reflect violence events against woman with content analysis method applied to the news between 01 January and 22 May 2013. This study aims to fulfill a comprehensive analysis by revealing which aspect of the violence against woman factor was put forward. In the scope of this study, 312 news related to violence against woman were analyzed from totally 402 newspapers each of which includes 134 issues. The most important finding of this study is that newspapers having different journal policies do not reveal crucial differences in reporting news about the violence against woman and banalize the violence against woman by representing the news in individually and personally judicial events, not by their social dimensions.
