Abstract
This aim of this study is to examine the relationship between organizational cynicism and organizational commitment and also to test how and in what direction age of employees affects this relationship. This study which is based on 342 employees’ surveys reflects that there is a significance and negative relationship between organizational cynicism and organizational commitment perceived by employees and age of employees moderated this relationship. It is utilized to measure organizational cynicism from Brandes’ (1997) study, and for organizational commitment from Meyer and Allen’ (1990) and Meyer, Allen, and Smith’ (1993) study. By analyses performed, it is provided that organizational cynicism is negatively related to organizational commitment (b = .105, p .05) and age of employees have important and positive moderator effect (b = .150, p .05). The results emphasize the need to consider the factors effect the relationship highlighting the studies conducted on organizational cynicism and organizational commitment.
