Abstract
This study attempts to reviewed the situation of science education being given for students with intellectual disability. Basically the review of the body of literature has showed that students with intellectual disability have not get adequate science education and there have been only few studies about the teaching of science subjects for those students. Besides, it has been desired to raise the awareness of researchers to study in this field by underlining the deficiencies and challenges in this field with this study. It has been argued that in general the students with disabilities and specifically the students with intellectual disability can get science education at appropriate level with the suitable material, teaching methods and techniques to be developed for the education of those students. It has been thought that the learning potential of the students with intellectual disability will be maximized and the obstacles in question will be eliminated.
