Abstract
In this study, it is tried to compare the historical and modern architecture in Altınoluk in the context of urban aesthetics. The selection reason of Altınoluk is; the historical and modern architecture in Altınoluk built environment are present together. Thus, it was tried to learn the aesthetic image differences created by the historical and modern architecture that existed in Altınoluk. In addition, it is aimed to make a concrete inference on the conservation or loss of historical urban aesthetic values in the process of urbanization. This comparison was made by referring to the opinions of people living in Altınoluk. The reason for this is that the city gets its aesthetic values by the people who live there. The survey technique was used to find out the opinions of the people of Altınoluk. According to the results of the survey, Altınoluk modern architecture has aesthetic values in terms of its own, but lags behind the historical architecture. A basic determination can be made as follows; the building of modern architecture by adhering to historical aesthetic values is one of the important elements to be taken into consideration in during urbanisation. Otherwise, while cities are modernizing, they can move away from people.
