  • Abstract
    The aim of study is to understand social problems and perceptions between second homeowners and local people. Different stakeholders were reached in the research which was carried in the quantitative and qualitative research design. The survey was made to the second homeowners (350). Moreover, face-to-face in great detail interview was made via semi-structured forms for 18 people from second homeowners. The survey data was analysed descriptively in SPSS 16.0 program and interviews was analysed descriptively in MAXQDA 12 program. According to the research findings, some of second homeowners state that local people have positive thinks about themselves and the municipality is working better than previous periods. Local people define second homeowners as retired, friendly and good people. However, some of local people criticize second homeowners, because of variety of reasons like see the local population simple and do not obey the rules in the traffic. Moreover, they accuse second homeowners do not allow local people to use beach, with increasing the cost of living, with raises the real estate market and causing traffic density. This situation increases social tension in the space. In addition, some of second homeowners state that the local artisans sell products at high prices and the municipality doing opportunism in tax and bill collection. As a result, the second home tourism caused socio-spatial decomposition in the study area. Despite positive thoughts, there is social segregation and social conflict among stakeholders in the area.
