Abstract
Earthquake in the first place, Turkey is under continuous danger and threat due to large portion of the building stock with violation of zoning regulations. Edirne is very close to Çanakkale and potential earthquake risk regions such as the Gulf of Saros. Historical development in the Thrace Region, especially in Edirne earthquakes have occurred in various sizes. Edirne is a central feature to be considered in terms of earthquake. The aim of this study is to evaluate the structural performance and current damage stages of buildings, which has importance of the coefficient number “1” (schools and hospitals) according to 2007 earthquake Regulations in Edirne (CODE-2007), prior to a possible earthquake occurrence.
