Abstract
This study aims to determine some anatomical and morphological properties of Narrow-Leaf Ash wood which grown in four different spacing (3x2, 3x2.5, 3.75x3.75, 4x4 m) at Adapazari-Süleymaniye bottomland forests. For this end, we determined fiber length, fiber width, wall thickness, lumen width, vessel length. Using these values we determined the fiber-size correlations (the elasticity coefficient, felting rate, rigidity coefficient, Runkel classification, F ratio, and Mühlstep classification). The potential use of this specimen in the pulp and paper industry is investigated based on the fiber-size correlation data. Results revealed that all the plantations of Narrow-Leaved Ash can supply raw material suitable for pulp production. Among the spacing alternatives the most suitable one is spacing II (3x2,5 m).
