Abstract
The main purpose of the research is to examine 8th grade secondary school students’ perceptional changes and improvements towards independence, freedom, self reliance, and contemporaneousness values. In accordance with this main purpose, before value teaching a preimplementation and after value teaching a post-implementation was done and the data was compared. The research was implemented with 26 eight graders who were taking education in 2014-2015 school year. In this study as research design pretest-posttest applied phenomenographic study which is one of the qualitative research methods and as data collection method word binding test and semi structured interview forms were used. Analyzing the obtained data by descriptive analysis and content analysis, concept network maps, percentage and frequency tables were composed.
