Abstract
The aim of this study is to assess the effectiveness of the school management in monitoring and implementing the guidelines established by the school administration in order to ensure the continuity of primary school students based on the opinions of the school management. The research was characterized by descriptive survey model. The study population consisted of 512 school administrators working in 220 primary and secondary schools in the central districts of Diyarbakir (Bağlar, Kayapınar, Yenişehir, Sur). The sample consisted of 217 school administrators included in the study. The stratification sampling method was used to show the distribution of primary school administrators in four central regions. The 1“School Management Policies in Student Continuity Scale”, consisting of 37 items and 4 factors developed by the researchers, was used as a data collection tool. The data obtained from the study were analyzed by SPSS package program. In the analysis, along with descriptive statistics were also independent samples t-test, one way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis H test was used. The research findings, policy school administrators most they apply in providing the students continuity policies for cooperation s with managements and teachers, that if the policies they at least apply policies for cooperation with education stakeholders and the school environment has revealed. In addition, there were significant differences in terms of age, year of service, type of duty, and duration of working as a manager between the views of the managers. In particular, it was observed that school principals, who have more years, years of service and management period, have more effectively implemented and followed school management policies in order to ensure student continuity.
