Abstract
Purpose of this study was to examine the theoretical and practical aspects of animal data sets with Chernoff faces that is one of the data visualization techniques. Chernoff s faces are simplified cartoon-like faces designed by Herman Chernoff to assess the perceptual significance of complex multidimensional data and make cognitive processes more effective and efficient. In the study, 20 cattle (Brown Swiss) and 20 goats (Hair Goat) reared in Atabey, Isparta in 2002 were used as a data set. Facial features differed in perceptual clarity and instead of presentations filled with large and complex numbers, easily understood presentations facilitated by figures were obtained.
