Abstract
In this study, different rootstocks used in tomato; effects on plant growth, fruit quality and yield were investigated. Beaufort Fı, Kingkong Fı, Hamarat Fı, Arazi Fı, Spirit Fı were used as rootstock, Ayer 38 Fı was used as the scion. Ayer 38 Fı non-grafted and also Ayer 38 Fı /Ayer 38 Fı self-grafted plants combinations were as the control used. Scion diameter, fruit firmness, internode length, number of leaves, plant high, EC and pH value of juice, titratable acidity, soluble dry matter content, fruit height, fruit diameter were not affected by rootstocks. However, an increase in rootstock diameter, early yield, total yield, fruit weight, total fruit number were observed by rootstocks. According to the result, it was observed that rootstock diameter ranged 14.5 mm-19.8 mm, total yield 8.83-14.43 kg/m2, the number of fruits per plant ranged from 21.5-54.5. The effects of scion/rootstock combination on total yield were significant and Ayer 38 Fı /Hamarat grafting combination resulted in higher yield than the other grafting combinations. Consequently, it was determined that tomato yield and fruit quality could be positively affected by appropriate rootstock selection.
