Abstract
Some effective works have been done in communication sector in order to provide competency. One of them is internet. Traffic on the internet is increasing day by day. As technology advances and the use of the internet increases, it is inevitable to meet the demand for rapid communication in the communication sector. MPLS (Multi-Protocol Label Switching) architecture is developed when the new technology and modern hardware architecture is not enough to reduce communication latency and data loss. Increased point-to-point circuit requirements due to intolerance to delay times add extra equipment cost to internet providers; in parallel with this, the price paid by the user increases. In this study, a performance evaluation (with more speed and less cost) for MPLS technology which is developed as a result of technological competency in communication sector is done. For the evaluation of traffic, tests have been done in networks which use MPLS and other networks. It is questioned that whether labeling feature contributes to routers or not by comparing obtained test results. The study shows that the use of MPLS is economically cost-effective and can be used to support decision makers of businesses.
