Abstract
In this study, it was aimed to determine the digital literacy experiences of the elderly with the perspective of intergenerational solidarity, to reveal a general framework and to evaluate the opinions and suggestions of the young people on this issue. A qualitative research method and phenomenological approach were used. Six elderly people aged 65 years and over, and their grandchildren six young people participated in the study. According to the research results, elderly people have difficulties while using communication tools, internet, ATM and learning new technologies. Among the most important reasons for this situation are age-related visual and hearing impairments, fear of disrupting the product and performing incorrect operations, distrust of the internet and digital services, concern for capturing personal information, small texts, and finding digital transactions fast and complex. The elderly often prefer to do digital services face to face. In addition, while the elderly stated that they are eager to get help from young people about technology, the young people participating in the research support the use of technology by the elderly, especially their grandparents.
