NOSTALGIA IN CINEMA: A READING PRACTICE ON THE LA BELLE EPOQUE FILM

Nostalgia concept, which is not defined as a disease today, has been used to describe people who longed for childhood and adolescence in the past. There is also a close relationship between cinema and nostalgia. Especially nostalgic movies in the science fiction genre that make people travel through time and satisfy people s longing for the past. This study will focus on the concept of nostalgia and the relationship between cinema and nostalgia. In the context of the concept, the La Belle Epoque movie will be analyzed according to the descriptive analysis method. It was concluded that many situations expressed in order to define nostalgia were used in the film, and it was observed that the concept of nostalgia was used when creating films that we can call nostalgic films.
