AN INTERNATIONAL COMPARATIVE STUDY ABOUT SOME VARIABLES IN TURKEY AND SINGAPORE: EXAM ANIEXTY, SCIENCE FIELD INTEREST AND PARENT SUPPORT SCORES OF THE STUDENTS

There are many underlying factors behind academic achievement or failure such as exam anxiety, science field interest, and parent support. In this research, these variables are purposed to compare between Turkey and Singapore. PISA 2015 student surveys were used as data collection tool of the study. The research population, in which the descriptive model was used, constitutes 15-year-old students. The sample of the study is 11752 students for the exam anxiety variable; 11460 students for the interest in science field variable; 11816 students for the supporting of parents variable, the data obtained from the students were used. Before using the data collection tool validity and reliability studies were conducted. Afterwards, ın the analysis of the exam anxiety and interest in science” variables, Independent samples t-test was used to compare. As the data did not normally distribute Mann Whitney U Test, was applied. At the end of first and second sub problems, findings show that there are significant differences between scores of the students who are in Turkey and Singapore. The findings of third sub problem show that there is not a significant difference between the scores of this variable.
