Abstract
Determining the reflection levels to program and books has formed the purpose of this study by examining activities in the course books with 3 and 4th Grade Science Program according to five sub-dimension of place-based education. In the study, a qualitative research method of document review was used. Science Course (3-8) Curriculum and 3rd Grade Science Course Book, 4th Grade Science and Technology Course and Student Workbook has constituted the working group. Grades 3 and 4 were selected because of the scope of the elementary school. Data had been obtained by the method of document review. When 3rd grade Science Program was examined, it had been determined that there were acquirements belonging to every sub-dimension of place-based education which can be applied. However, activities of acquirements that will be applicable to place-based education had remained limited with in-class activities in general, place-education had not been used. When acquirements in 4th grade program had been examined, it had been included to acquirements that will be applicable for every sub-dimension of place-based education.
