    INVESTIGATION OF EDUCATIONAL FEATURES OF EARLY CHILDHOOD PICTURE STORY BOOKS

  • Abstract
    In this study, it has been aimed to investigate the educational features of books prepared for children in 3-8 age range. Three researchers have examined 40 books together to ensure the reliability among the scorers on and Cronbach s alpha value have been found as91.According to the study results, the most recent Turkish was used in the most of the books and more than half of the books were written in a manner to improve child s feelings, thoughts and imagination. Furthermore, it has been detected that three of four books that were examined were cleared of prejudice. Nevertheless, it has been determined that nearly half of the books failed to introduce the human character to child in all aspects such as weakness or strengths. Finally, the fact that books do not contain any violent content has been seen as a pleasing finding.
