Abstract
This study aims to examine the Turkish culture awareness of the students learning Turkish as a second language in Turkey. This study, performed in screening model, was designed according to the quantitative research method. The sample of the research consists of 71 students in Gazi University TÖMER, 74 students in Gaziantep University TÖMER and 83 students in Istanbul University DİLMER. The findings of the research were derived from the data collected in Er (2015). Survey data were collected with the “Questionnaire of Determination related to Awareness Turkish Culture of Students”. In the analysis of the data, the frequency and the average were calculated. As a result of this research, in the direction of the findings obtained from Turkish teaching centers, it has been determined that foreign students generally have high awareness about Turkish culture, Turkish serials and films, religious and national holidays, special days and eating and drinking habits in Turkish culture in Turkey. However, those students awareness of Turkish literature, Turkish folk dances and traditional Turkish clothes has been found to be low.
