Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine how the discipline problems of the students studying in vocational high schools in Siirt city center are distributed with respect to grade variable and the causes of these discipline problems. Since the research has a mixed nature, an exploratory design is employed. In order to address the research question that is related to calculating number of discipline problems and number of students in each grade, descriptive screening method among the quantitative research methods is used. In order to address the research question that is related to the causes of discipline problems, descriptive analysis method among the qualitative research methods is used. This research was conducted by examining the disciplinary board decision books of four Vocational High Schools in Siirt city center between 2011-2012 and 2016-2017 academic years. In addition, 9 school administrators, 5 teachers and 3 school counseling teachers working on the Disciplinary Committee were interviewed. In accordance with the results obtained in this research, it was observed that number of discipline incidents vary with respect to grade. Most punishments were enforced to 11th grade students, while the minimum number of punishments were enforced to 12th grade students.
