Abstract
In this study, Social Studies curricula at primary school level implemented in Turkey, Czech Republic, England, Republic of Ireland, Singapore and New Jersey, USA were examined in terms of elements of ancient history. Some evaluations were also made in order to make Social Studies courses in our country more efficient. Qualitative research method was used in the study. Research data were obtained through document analysis. Descriptive analysis method, which is a qualitative research technique, was used in the analysis of data. It was determined that the curricula in Turkey, Czech Republic and England are more focused on their own lands and environments in terms of civilizations that are subject to research, while in Ireland, Singapore and New Jersey, USA, they have a more universal perspective. Different characteristics that stand out in the curricula of Social Studies implemented in Ireland, Singapore and New Jersey, USA were identified. These differences stem from the items that are focused on. They are the myths,etc., in the curriculum in Ireland, extracurricular activities in Singapore and different world religions in New Jersey, USA.
